Well Issac is giving Salt Cay some much needed rain. The donkeys were actually kicking their heals up and playing they were so excited to have water and soon, more food. Thanks for all the emails from our friends wishing us safe harbor from the storm. We have gusting winds at about 30MPH , no real sea action, so hope to be out diving again tomorrow. Sun is shinning and life is good. Just hope Isaac stays away from Haiti, Cuba and Fl. Be safe to all who might be in the path of Hurricane Issac.

Lionfish feast! After the Scheller Tribe finished bringing in their Underwater Safari, Divemaster Richard showed them how to clean the fish safely so they could cook them. They were delicious!

Today was a new adventure in that the divers got to go looking for Lion fish and were able to net three. Average size was 9 “. They found a really baby Lion fish too.
Jodi, our Environmental Science officer recorded the find, measured and then actually dissected to see what they are eating. Found lots of baby Juvenile fish, shrimp inside them. Richard them cleaned them and we had a gourmet feast. Ok, not a feast, but a Lion fish tasting and they were quite tender. Special thanks to Jodi, Rich, our Dive master and to Joe, Smitty, Sharon and Jim diving guests down assisting us. Come on down and join us for our next “HUNT”

Went out diving today and saw a 10 ft Hammerhead. He circled us several times, then went off on his merry way. Quite exciting. This is early Hammerheads, just like it was early for the Mantas. The plankton is not blooming, but the water is warming up to 80 degrees and rising. Great to get in the water again.
